REOMED has established itself as a brand leader in medical technology. Reliability, quality, and customer service combine to contribute to the popularity and acceptance of the brand REOMED, along with the knowledge that only the best components and manufacturing processes are utilized. The quality and longevity of the products combined with the overall service portfolio make REO one of the most popular manufacturers in this area internationally.
“In order to do justice to our vision, constant development and refinement is required. These are the essential components of our success, it is the nature of things that we are constantly thinking about our transformers. As such we always have the user, i.e. our customers, in mind. Their wishes and requirements are our approach and incentive. ”Wolfgang Senninger
In developments in a high-safety area like medical technology, where any doubt in a function could put a patient’s life at risk, the highest possible safety measures are more important than excitement for a new product feature. Therefore, the strict standards as well as certification rules are at the center of every consideration. Many safety elements are based on the Medical Devices Act (MPG), whose limit values are most effectively achieved through the REOMED toroidal fixed transformer. This is shown by the IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 approvals from TÜV Süd. We demonstrate our quality through regular inspections of the production facilities.
An example of compliance with the limit values is the leakage current. This current incorrectly flows through the protective conductor and according to the law may not be higher than 500µA. In the United States, the limit is 300µA. In medical technology, every device used (computer, screen, laser or camera) creates a leakage current. With the often high number of medical devices in a room, the limit is very quickly reached and exceeded. Necessary counter-measures: A medical isolating transformer like REOMED.
As such, REOMED is frequently found on Medical Carts. The Carts carry numerous medical devices that are common in hospitals, medical research centres or operating theatres. The isolating transformer provides the power supply for every device connected to it.
Along with the task of keeping leakage current within limits, the isolating transformer also has the function of adapting the different voltages of networks around the world. From 100V in Japan or 120V in the United States to 230V in Europe, there are different voltages across the entire globe. The REOMED enables existing devices to be used with a different input voltage so that the same device can be used across the world.
Along with the task of keeping leakage current within limits, the isolating transformer also has the function of adapting the different voltages of networks around the world. From 100V in Japan or 115V in the United States to 230V in Europe and 240V in Australia, there are different voltages across the entire globe. The REOMED enables existing devices to be used with a different input voltage so that the same device can be used across the world.
REOMEDs are mainly used for endoscopy, pneumoscopy, ventilators and incubators. The demand for the manufacture of ventilators and incubators has recently risen sharply during the Covid-19 pandemic. Not only are our employees in Pfarrkirchen but the entire REO family is proud that our products are part of the global supply chain and that we can help in the fight against the pandemic every day.
The trust in REOMED depends not only on the quality or the high degree of individualization. It is the global package that our customer recieves from REO. This includes the technical preparation, creating the documentation and also carrying out all the desired certifications.
The REOMED product range is of great importance at REO. Every year the sales numbers increase and sales targets are achieved. In addition, due to Covid-19 an increase of more than 25% is expected this year. Global firms based in Asia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines or from the United States and Canada are working together with the family company REO to help achieve impressive results in this field, but in spite of this international aspect to the business, REO continues to offer high-tech products that are “made in Germany”.
